Horseback Riding and Animal Rights:
Can They Ever Be in Harmony?
Comments by: Frank L. Hoffman - 24 Feb 2004

Dear Kay:

Thank you for your letter.

We're not sure which article, story, or discussion comments you read, but some others are from people who do care for horses and ride them. You should read those, too.

You mentioned that sometimes riding a horse does hurt them, even if they let you know about it, and that one horse throws the rider in the mud. Perhaps that's his or her way of saying, "I don't like to be ridden." Couldn't you still have the same loving relationships with your pony and the horses if you didn't ride them?

And, I have ridden and cared for horses.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank
