Horseback Riding and Animal Rights:
Can
They Ever Be in Harmony?
Comments by: James Hall - 25 Feb 2002
About seven miles north of my house, a large horse racing / gambling facility is
in the process of being built. Of course, I am heartbroken about this for many
reasons. I raised my voice to protest as local governmental leaders welcomed these people with open arms, but money and political power won out as it often does in this fallen world.
Anyway, I have decided to write a series of Letters to the Editor of our local
newspaper to try to get area people to not give support to this facility when it does open.
Can anyone point me to a website, etc., where I can find information about
horse racing that details its abuse of animals, corruption, social problems caused, etc. I would like to cover "all of the bases," detailing the damage to animals as well as to humans by these gambling enterprises.
Thanks in advance.
J. Hall
