In Reference to Growing a Papaya Tree from Seed

Dear Matt:

We grew the papaya from the seed of a commercially grown papaya fruit for a few years in a pot, but it never developed mature fruit because there was no male flowers to pollinate the  female flowers on the plant. It grew to over 10 feet under our skylight.

We’re not sure about the pruning, as papayas are not trees, but plants, and we just don’t know what would happen.
