Vegetarianism - "UnBiblical" (1990 Press) "MEAT AND VEG? IT'S HOLY WAR"The Daily Mirror; Friday, May 4, 1990 COMMONS Speaker Bernard Weatherill turned the biblical tables yesterday on vegetarian-bashing Agriculture Minister, John Gummer. He told MPs he has reminded the Minister of a letter from St Paul to the Romans: "It is a fine thing to abstain from eating meat." Mr Gummer had said that not eating meat is "wholly unnatural" and added: "The Bible tells us we are masters of the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field - and we very properly eat them."
