Bishop joins animal protest Bishop Agnellus Andrew joined a deputation opposing the infliction of pain on animals which met Mr David Mellor, junior minister at the Home Office, on 23 May. The deputation from the Christian Consultative Council for the Welfare of Animals expressed its concern over the recently published White Paper on animal experimentation, telling Mr Mellor that "it is morally and ethically unacceptable and irresponsible to abuse animals in the way that the White Paper would still make possible".
