By Margaret Lawson
Christian way With reference to Mrs. Mary Beaumont's letter in the April
"Vegetarian" I wish to point out that I understand that the ideal
expressed by the "Fellowship of Life" goes much farther than that
expressed by the "Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals" in that
it is concerned with the way of life of individual Christians and has
been formed to educate Christians that no cruelty, including the father
of them all, slaughter, should ever be considered to be necessary by the
Christian. To my mind, at any rate, any Christian Society is falling
very short of the mark when, by its very silence, it condones slaughter,
and is in fact dealing in half-truths. Margaret E. Lawson Return to Margaret Lawson: Letters |
