Dear Editor, Having read about the glut of eggs in 'Current Events', I was sad to
read the slogan 'eat another egg a week.' The only reason there is this glut is that millions of hens are
suffering in tiny spaces, or batteries; they cannot turn round nor sit
down; all they can do is eat the non-natural food and lay eggs. In
Proverbs 12 v10 we read, 'A righteous man has regard for the life of his
beast but the mercy of the wicked is cruel' (RSV). As God cannot bless
cruelty, no wonder the battery owners are "suffering money losses." Mrs D.G. Handford Christian Herald Reproduced with thanks Return to Letters |
