Horse racing is not a glamorous sport for the horses.

Unfortunately, the government, politicians, 'stars', and religious leaders allow this greedy industry to flourish.

The only hope for God's creatures is when their Creator will one day hold everyone involved accountable.

To the merciful, mercy will be given. I don't recall Jesus taught to be merciful only for 'humankind' and cruel to God's animals. Animal abuse and violence is all a result of the evil in our world.

Only when we teach compassion and fulfill our duty to care and speak out for all of God's creation will we truly live for God in word and deed.

If you think horse racing is not so bad, please watch this video.

"But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity." James 3:17

There IS a just and merciful G-D. His moral law WILL be fulfilled despite the lust and greed of his beloved human creatures.

Eight Belles will be compensated for her agony.

ALL those who bear responsibility in ANY way to Any degree at ANY time for the needless suffering of G-D's helpless creatures who have been entrusted by him to our care will consequently suffer in their own lives whether they are aware of this or not.

I sit here amid floods of tears and fits of anger at the needless death of the beautiful filly, Eight Belles, during the Derby today. I have lived in Louisville since 1984 and was finally "dragged" to Churchill Downs about ten years ago.

During one of the races, a horse went down and was euthanized on the track. I got up and left, swearing that I would never attend another horse race.

My distaste for racing naturally extended to my rescue of racing greyhounds.

Today is a sad day indeed. Again, greed has taken one of God's creatures out of this world before her time. Will this madness ever stop?

Even though it may anger some people in the congregation, Eight Belles will be remembered during the Prayers of the People tomorrow. I pray that she is now grazing in a lovely pasture with Barbaro and all the other beautiful horses who have given their lives for the industry.

I was shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely death of Eight Belles , not being able to believe it has happened again. Remember all the outpouring of grief for Barbaro - but has anything really changed in people's hearts? I have heard people ,who love their pets. justify horseracing with " Oh, but this horse loves to run ." Will sensitivity ever reign over greed?

God's Creatures Ministry is committed to spreading God's compassion to all He has made based on The Scriptures. Although we are a Christian Ministry, we encourage all to have their own animal welfare committee in their community. We extend our resources to those who would like to learn more or begin their own God's Creatures Ministry as an extension of us. God created us to have a vegetarian diet and commissioned us to protect His animals. Instead, we have exploited them for our entertainment, fashion, appetite and useless, torturous research. These creatures have the right to live as they were created to live. Because we live IN this world, but are not OF this world, we strive to bring God's mercy and justice to all. We live in God's Kingdom now where Jesus, The Sacrificial Lamb, The Prince of Peace, The Lion of Judah reigns. We look forward to that day when all of creation will be 'set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God' (Romans 8:21) where a little child will lead and guide God's creatures (see Isaiah 11:5-9).
