A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

The Right Thing – 15 March 2009
By Mary T. Hoffman

I just read two interesting quotations about our country. The first one is attributed to Winston Churchill: “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.” The second quotation is from our former President Bill Clinton: “There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America.”

These words were quoted in the context of the past year’s financial woes and the election of the new President. I’m hoping that the American public will finally decide to take charge of their health care by educating themselves about their options. Once they find out how easy and rewarding – health wise and money wise – it is to simply go vegan, they will wonder why it took them so long to stop being duped by the powerful industries: industrial animal agriculture and pharmaceutical, as well as the doctors who pander to them.
