Woolly Bear Caterpillar (Pyrrharctia isabella) - Isabella Tiger Moth Larva - 01
(Woolly Bear Caterpillar (Pyrrharctia isabella) - Isabella Tiger Moth Larva - 01) During late Summer and early Fall we often see Woolly Bear caterpillars crossing the road, which is characteristic of their species.   It seems like we're constantly picking them up and placing them on the side of the road, as we did with this one.  One of the interesting features of the woolly bears is that, as they mature, the black setae give way to the red-orange color of the thoracic segments (top of photo).

lamb-right lamb-left Presented here are just a few of the countless components of God's creation.  Just as we cannot have human and animal life without water and plants, neither can we have lasting peace without love and compassion.  It is our hope and prayer that this series will motivate people to live and act in a cruelty-free manner; that we would no longer hurt or destroy each other, the animals or our environment.
