Animal activists protest outside lab

DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Activists staged a protest outside of a South Florida research lab after concerning pictures surfaced.

Demonstrators gathered outside of Primate Products Inc., Tuesday. Photographs of bloody monkeys surfaced on the Internet last week.

According to protesters, the pictures, which show the animals with deep gashes and open wounds, were taken inside the research lab. However, officials at the facility said the pictures are of two monkeys that got into a fight.

Primate Products Inc. sells monkeys to institutions for medical research.
