Please LEVY a MAXIMUM FINE against the Harvard Medical School, for their blatant disregard of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) when their negligence allowed a monkey to die of strangulation. This behavior must NOT be tolerated and MUST be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Animal Rights Group Files Complaint Against Harvard

From WGBH Radio, December 3, 2019

Harvard medical school is facing the complaint that a monkey in one of its research labs died from strangulation over the summer.

The Animal rights group Stop Animal Exploitation NOW, SAEN, says it has filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, claiming the monkey's death violates the federal Animal welfare Act. The monkey was apparently strangled after being caught in a hole ripped in covering over its cage.

SAEN is calling for a full investigation. Harvard medical school released a statement that reads in part: "It is incumbent upon us to continuously strive to improve our program and strengthen oversight in order to exceed the highest standards."
