** We will meet at the intersection of W. Campbell and N. Floyd Road ** Please join Animal Connection of Texas in a peaceful demonstration against this unnecessary cruelty, urging UT-Dallas to follow in the footsteps of the University of California-Irvine, home to one of the nation's top neuroscience programs, which recently announced that it was replacing this same rat experiment with alternative, non-animal methods. In a cruel classroom neuroscience experiment at the University of Texas-Dallas, undergraduate students drill holes into healthy rats' skulls, destroy parts of their brains with chemicals, inject them with drugs, and then force them to perform in behavioral experiments to assess the brain damage. At the end of the experiment, the rats are killed

We are targeting the notorious University of Utah. We will be marching from
the Administration Building to the main buildings on campus that are
responsible for the pain and suffering of thousands of animals every year.

This is the perfect opportunity to let University of Utah students know what
is happening inside the windowless buildings on their campus. Help us speak
out against animal cruelty.

We will have a permit from the University for the protest

Contact: If you would like more information, please contact Rachel@narn.org .

Comments: This year we will be focusing on the work that occurs inside of the Washington National Primate Research Center's primate genomics lab. Scientists recognize that monkeys are not very good models when it comes to studying diseases that afflict human primates, so they are spending millions of tax payer dollars to try and create "better research models".

We have a number of events planned in addition to Thursday's demo
