WILDLIFE AND THE ENVIRONMENT ACTION DAY

White Plains, NY  On Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 several environmental and animal protection groups will join for a program of discussion, food and film, entitled "Wildlife and the Environment Action Day," presented by the NY Whale and Dolphin Action League.  This event will be held at the Headquarters of WESPAC Foundation, 255 Martin Luther King Blvd, from 4 - 8 p.m.

Among other topics, NY Whale and Dolphin Action League will discuss the exploitation of sea animals in 'theme' parks; The Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting will discuss efforts to coexist with geese and deer in the face of urban sprawl; Animal Nation will present ideas for environmental and wildlife rehabilitation; and Animal Defenders of Westchester will discuss the effects of factory farms on the environment.

At 6:00 p.m. we will screen THE PELICAN MAN, the thrilling story of a rehabber who saves thousands of birds each year.  At 7:00 pm we are showing PEACEABLE KINGDOM, the heartwarming story of rescued farm animals at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, and their lives before rescue.  A delicious vegan feast will be served, and a vegan basket of goodies will be raffled off.
