Moo-ving people toward compassionate living
From Denise - 25 Nov 2007
I enjoyed looking through your recipes and I will be preparing the
asparagus with angel hair and tofu cream sauce tonight and butternut squash
stuffed with apples, raisins and walnuts.
I recently found out about factory farming while reading a book called
"Skinny B...h" about how these two authors who were in the modeling industry
stayed thin. I had no idea that some of the content was about this cruel and
inhumane treatment of these livestock. Had it not been, I might not have
ever found out all this information because it isn't out there in the
mainstream now and probably won't ever be because of the multi-bullion
dollar meat and dairy industries.
Right now I'm reading a book called "Vegetarianism for Dummies" and it states that only 1% of the population is vegetarian. We have got to get the word out there somehow. I did read somewhere that 75% of people care about whether the animals used for food are treated humanely. If they knew about these atrocities then something could get done.
I think they would actually have to see it, because my friends who read some of this book said they thought the worst incidents where not the norm. I pray to God that this isn't the norm most of the time, but it is still horrible.
A lot of people just don't want to know either, so they can go on with
their lives. Meat-eating is all they have ever known and they don't want to
think about how they are contributing to the suffering of animals. And I
think at one time, it was much more humane.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Keep Venting! The more people that hear the truth, the sooner the
atrocities will end. And, unfortunately, what you have seen and heard is the
norm. There really isn't any humane farming of animals. Over 95% of all
commercially farmed animals suffer horribly.
We are very happy that you found the truth and hope that you enjoy your compassionate meals.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
