From Olga - 25 Nov 2007 I have seen your website regarding the cruel and gruesome ways these raccoon dogs are being killed day by day for fur. I am so disgusted that we as Americans and even Europeans continue to purchase from this barbaric country called China. Is there anything being done lately? I know HSUS are heavily involved in this matter. But, what has been done so far? Showing this video gives us awareness of what is going on but we can't do anything about it but stop purchasing fur. Congress or the higher authorities are the only ones who could make a difference. I wish all these animals could be rescued from such hell that they are
in. Please inform me. Sincerely,
Dear Olga: Thank you for writing. To the best of our knowledge, public outcry has forced the EU to banned the import of the fur, and has caused many stores in the USA to stop selling the fur. But no governments have put sufficient pressure on China to ban these atrocities. However, the more we speak out and stop wearing fur, the sooner other positive steps will be made to end the cruelty.
