Two Top Professional Medics Opposing Animal Cruelty
At a time when I was invited by a leading Christian hypnotherapy
association in America to act as their satellite extension for the UK,
a Bernie Siegel was furthering the benefits of hypnotherapy within the
world of conventional medicine, and with great results! Indeed, like
myself he is now an octogenarian but he still has an active life and
many of his books are best sellers in their field. He also is a
terrific animal lover and champion, and the following extract taken
from a superb journal la Joie truly touches the heart:
A short
poem “They called him Rags” by Edmund Vance Cooke, brought me to tears
as a Surgeon. A Dog risks his life to save the soldiers he is with
and one wants to take him home; but just can’t locate him.. He returns
once more to medical school and, while there, walks in to a laboratory
close by., where a dog is cut open for all the students to see. He
goes over himself and realizes that it is non other than Rags, the
very dog he had wanted to rescue!
“And he licked my hand - and
died. And I was no better in part nor whole
Than that gang I was
found amongst. And his innocent blood was on the soul
Which he
blest with his dying tongue.
Well! I’ve seen men go to
courageous death In the air, on sea, on land! But only a dog would
spend his breath in a kiss for his murderers hand! And if there’s no
heaven for love like that. For such four legged fealty – well! If I
have any choice, I tell you flat: I’ll take my chance in Hell”
Indeed, Bernie Siegel is not the only one of his profession to oppose
such evil as the above. There is here, in the UK, a medical consultant
whose books opposing animal cruelty have been published worldwide.
Indeed, one of his latest is entitled ‘The Wisdom Of Animals’, and it
has been a real eye opener to myself. Indeed, I have several copies of
Dr Vernon and Antoinette’s slim hardback publication and - though the
price marked on it is for £20 - I can let any interested readers have
copies at £10 each, with postage and packing included. Simply make a
cheque out to myself - James Thompson - and forward it to our address
on this Newsletter - being sure to add your full address! A Copy
will then be dispatched to you within the week

Such top professionals in their specific fields – as the two above
– stand out in marked contrast to those within influential church
circles. Indeed, apart from the Rev. Professor Andrew Linzey of
Oxford, I personally know of no other cleric who is prepared to ‘rock
the ecclesiastical boat!’ in an effort to awaken ‘Christians’ to the
need for them to actively oppose ‘day to day’ animal cruelty wherever
it is found.
