Art by Barry Kent MacKay
(Watercolor on paper. The paint is opaque in places, so it does not qualify as a true watercolour, but it blends qualities of both, and is on paper. It shows a West Indian species of bird called the Antillean Euphonia. (Taxonomists used to think Euphonias were types of tanagers, but they are now considered to be more closely related to our goldfinches.)
