Get connected to the sanctuary!

Come stay with us! Cuddle with the cows, rub pig bellies, feed treats to chickens, hang with the bunnies and enjoy the scenery and recreation in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills.

Animal Place’s picturesque Guest House offers a unique experience, reasonable rates, vegan meals and a chance to meet the amazing rescued animals who call Animal Place home. We host themed retreats, adult camps and other educational experiences!

Animal Place’s Guest House (next door to the sanctuary) is 6.5 miles from downtown Grass Valley, 8 miles from Nevada City, and a short drive from the Yuba River and local and state parks. This is a great place to get away from city life and really get back to nature!

Want to bring a group? The Guest House is available to host your getaway with friends, reunion or business/organization retreat. Let us help you plan an overnight, weekend or even week-long stay that your group will never forget. We can accommodate groups of 6 to 12 adults. [We apologize because at this time our liability insurance does not allow us to have guests under the age of 18.]

The 3-bed, 2-bath guest house can accommodate four guests! Each room is named after a beloved resident - the Shelby Master Suite, Wilbur and Bob’s Rooms.

Included is a continental vegan breakfast, a guided tour of the sanctuary and volunteer opportunities. If you sign up for a themed retreat, a vegan dinner and additional volunteer opportunities and workshops are available.

All guests have access to a shared fully equipped kitchen, parking, WiFi, a television with a DVD player and indoor and outdoor games.

Some retreats planned for 2017 include yoga, meditation, photography, painting, culinary classes, animal rights activism, women’s empowerment, vegan parenting and veganic gardening!

For more details and to schedule your stay, please visit Animal Place's Guest House.

Our Guest House Coordinator and host is Jacinda Virgin who is available for any questions or concerns you may have. Please send her an email at [email protected].
