- Hunting dogs banned for hunting bears & wildcats
- Landlords prohibited from demanding that tenants have pet cats declawed or dogs debarked
- Maximum fines are doubled (from $5,000 to $10,000) for people convicted of animal fighting, i.e. bears, bulls, roosters, and animals fighting humans
- The California State Department of Fish & Game is now known as the California State Department of Fish & Wildlife
