New Organization Launches in U.S. and U.K. to Campaign Against Animal Experiments

BREAKING NEWS: A new international organization called Animal Justice Project launched Tuesday in the U.S.A and last Sunday in the U.K. The non-profit group is dedicated to the ending of animal experimentation and other forms of speciesism.

Animal Justice Project was founded by a unique and committed group of campaigners, researchers, experts and activists from the U.S., U.K. and Europe.

The mission of Animal Justice Project is to raise awareness of the plight of non-human animals. By bringing to light the reality of animal experimentation (through advocacy, education, protest and research) we aim to expose the injustices that take place in society and create a better world for all.

Animal Justice Project is working to create a society where all sentient animals are treated equally, with compassion and respect; and an end to the exploitation of animals in laboratories and on farms. We advocate for the abolition of animal breeding; and the abolition of animal use in research and educational institutions. Animal Justice Project is opposed to animal experiments on both moral and scientific grounds.

In the United States, more than 25 million animals are estimated to be used in research labs annually although there is no accurate or comprehensive figure available. Rats and mice are amongst the animals not counted yet they make up 80 – 95% of the animals used.

In 2013, over 4.12 million experiments were carried out on animals in the UK alone. Over a billion cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys and ducks are slaughtered in UK slaughter houses each year, also at least 4.5 billion fish and 2.6 billion shellfish. That’s a total of over 8 billion animals in just one year. These forms of mass, institutionalized animal exploitation are the greatest social justice issues of modern time.
