The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced they would reinstate the proposed rule to list the flat-tailed horned lizard as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act.
Flat-tailed horned lizards are one step closer to protection.
For several months a petition circulated in support of the flat-tailed horned lizard (Phrynosoma mcallii). Care2 activists from around the world spoke up to protect this rare lizard and help him claim a spot on the endangered species list. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced they would reinstate the proposed rule to list the flat-tailed horned lizard as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act.
Flat-tailed horned lizards are losing their habitat and struggling for survival due to human urban growth. Additional action needs to be taken to ensure we do not endanger these creatures any further. Two public hearings are scheduled for the end of March to gather additional support. This is our opportunity as activists to show some additional love for the flat-tailed horned lizard.
