Today, we bring you the great news that the Macon County Greyhound Park in Shorter, Alabama has announced that it will end live racing as of June 1!

Live racing has been conducted continuously at the facility, now operating as VictoryLand, since September 1984. Citing "economic difficulties," the track has decided to suspend this cruel activity.

In recent months, VictoryLand has been the subject of intense criminal investigation. Its owner Milton McGregor now faces multiple federal charges of bribery surrounding his alleged attempt to buy votes for a gambling bill.

Today's announcement is a true victory for the greyhounds!
