(04:10) Calves only a few days old, many with their umbilical cords still
hanging from their bodies, unable to stand or walk on their own were
repeatedly kicked, slapped and shocked with electric prods. All to be
slaughtered to be processed into "veal."
The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture
took decisive action today based on the information provided by HSUS and
immediately suspended operations at the plant in early November 2009,
pending a continuing investigation.
