(03:17) Before they are three days old, Karakul lambs are slaughtered and skinned to be made into “fashionable” garments. It takes as many as 30 of their small bodies to make a single full-length coat. To attain “tighter” curled fur, some are killed while still in the womb, a process that kills the mother as well. It is known by several names in the fashion industry: Broadtail, Persian Lamb, Russian Broadtail.
