Although they don’t speak our language, animals are not so different from us. They’re incredibly smart, feel emotions, and care about their families and friends. Animals want to be happy, and most of all, they deserve to live free. For too long, humans have seen animals as a way to make money, but now we know better. Animals should have the same rights as human beings do.

Learn the stories of how animals would fight back for their lives if they could speak our language. Find out how meat and dairy break families apart and where many clothing materials come from. Explore ways to help animals who are being used for entertainment, and discover scientific advancements that promise an end to animal testing. Get useful insight into why choosing cruelty-free products matters and how to support animal rescue missions and farm sanctuaries.

All five Little Animals, Mean World books shine a light onto the difficulties animals face when they’re used as materials, ingredients, and subjects in different industries, all in a kid friendly way.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

When Angela Prada-Moed became a mom, she took the natural plunge into motherhood devotion and almost instantly she started to feel a connection between her and all animal mothers, especially cows. Once Angela learned the horrors of the dairy industry, she could not look away. She knew she had to speak up about the pain cows endure when their babies are ripped away at birth so we—humans—can have milk in our coffee.

Since then, she has evolved from a fierce entrepreneur to a “vegan for the animals” mother of two. In her journey to raise her children to be the healthiest and most compassionate boys, Angela has gone from opening an organic vegan cafe to writing Little Animals, Mean World book series. She hopes her books spark kids curiosity for the truth behind food, fashion and all other businesses that use animals as commodities.

Angela was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Miami, Florida. She’s now daring the dry dessert heat and the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, Nevada raising her two boys with her husband along with her biggest cheerleader—her mother. When she’s not writing or being a mom, Angela is crushing a poker challenge, going for a long hike at Red Rock Canyon, or most likely searching for perfectly ripe avocados, as all right thinking vegans would.
