Hi again,

Here is another example. I have been taking care of this woman with MS for a while now. At previous admissions, she always talked about God and her faith.

We spoke extensively about diet choices and how God loves all of his creation and wants us to eat plant based foods as told in Genesis. She always agrees and nods her head but then she orders foods that contain God's creation. We just talked about it again yesterday. So what was for breakfast?  Well....eggs, bacon, etc., milk. AND why is the hospital letting her have these foods? We have a dietary office and dietary orders for patients.

She is also very heavy and can't ( or I should say won't) do a thing for herself.

So I went online and searched for foods to avoid when having MS and this is what it said:

(It really should say foods not to be eaten to avoid MS and other diseases)
Foods That Should Not Be Eaten.

So for people with MS foods to avoid are:

  • Meat, including processed meat, salami, sausages, canned meat
  • Eggs except for egg whites
  • Dairy products; that is, avoid milk, cream, butter, ice cream and cheeses. Low fat milk or yoghurt is not acceptable. Cow’s milk and dairy products are best avoided altogether as the protein is likely to be as much of a problem as the saturated fat, given recent evidence. Soy products or rice or oat milk are good substitutes.
  • Any biscuits, pastries, cakes, muffins, doughnuts or shortening, unless fat-free

Yet, with every meal she eats those foods. She knows those foods are bad for her.

Can you tell that I am getting very disgusted with people!

I am sorry to ramble on like this but today I cannot find much compassion for any of those people. Hopefully I will feel better about them tomorrow.

Thanks for listening.

Karolin
