Animals as Food
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 4 Jan 2006
Dear Jennifer:
Thank you for responding, and yes, you did sound contradictory, but unfortunately now you sound like an apologist for the farmed animal industry.
We've heard all of this before, and form all of our research, none of this is true when it comes to factory farms. We've even seen animals abused on small family farms. The name of the game is "money", and no industry is going to spend more money to produce their product unless they are forced to do so.
You seem to find comfort in thanking a dead tortured animal for giving their flesh for you to eat, but they didn't not do so willingly. They did not give it to you, it was forcibly taken from them. Do you really believe that your thankfulness justifies all the pain, suffering and death?
Also, we believe you should do more studying about nutrition. Calorie for calorie, plant foods are far more nutritious than animal foods.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
