Animals as Food

Dear Victor:

Thank you very much for writing and for your concern about the cruelty inflicted upon animals.

Your Biblical interpretation seems to be reading more into the Bible than is actually there. There is only one passage in the Bible where is says that Jesus may have eaten a piece of fish, and that was after His resurrection. When He fed the 5,000, He only multiplies what was given. He caused no more death. Remember, Jesus is the final sacrifice. And, since there is no death in heaven, there can be no animal products served at the banquet.

Jesus teaches us to be kind and merciful peacemakers. If we know that there is cruelty involved in the production of animals foods, and we support it with our money, doesn't that also make us supporters of the cruelty?

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
