Is Cremation Biblically Acceptable?
Comments by Lisa - 26 Feb 2006
My feelings about this are similar to my feelings about vegetarianism.
Scripture may or may not take a stand, Jesus may or may not have been veg...but in our day and age, we need to take seriously the ways we treat or mistreat nature. Using up good, arable land to bury the dead seems like poor stewardship when we have better alternatives.
Me, I'd support your decision to be cremated. I supported my mother's decision to do so last summer (so maybe I'm not objective) and will probably want to be myself.
Can I quote a text on this issue? No, but common sense tells me that with God, cremation is fine.
