In Reference to: Wild Rose (Rosa Rugosa) - Flowering Trees, Bushes and Shrubs of Sleepy Hollow Lake

The height could be a Rose Rugosa, but the flowers are not. They could be a hibiscus or rose of sharon.

Are the stems and branches covered with thorns?
