"Dolphin Safe" labels on tuna fish products do not necessarily mean that dolphins were not harmed or killed in the process.
Currently, tuna fishing boats are required by the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) to submit weekly reports on the estimated number of dolphins harmed as tuna is caught.
