The truth is, Easter has roots in a pagan festival centered around fertility. Rabbits and chicks were symbols connected to celebrations of the goddess Eostre, representing fertility because of their high reproductive rates.
Over time, this tradition became blended with Resurrection Day. But these innocent animals have nothing to do with the power of God that raised Jesus from the dead, which is the true reason we celebrate Easter. Over time, we have lost the message of Easter with our obsession of using animals, so, how can we refocus our attention on the true reason we celebrate Easter?
