We support all who care about
animals with prayer, information and help.
Every church or community could have a GCM or animal committee (please
contact us for forms). Have a meeting or special class to start and
meet regularly.
Suggestions:
- Teach compassion to animals in classrooms and encourage your pastor to
promote animal welfare from the pulpit.
- Hand out literature in public places and at Christian events.
- Have a vegetarian dinner. (Gen. 1:29)
- Have pet food drives to assist people who are having difficulty
feeding their companion animals.
- At a church service or function, honor community members who have
shown care and kindness towards animals.
- When making purchases, think about how they affect animals and the
environment.
- Move toward a plant-based diet. The new four food groups are grains,
legumes, fruits, and vegetables.
- Support animal welfare with letters to newspaper editors.
- Be a foster caregiver to a dog/cat or adopt.
- Volunteer at your local shelter/rescue group.
- Provide straw in winter.
- Remodel old dog coops to help unfortunate dogs.
- Help individual animals.
- Start A
Pet Sitting/Foster Care Ministry". I know that there is Foster Care
listed, but not specifically for churches to have their own ministry to
help people in crisis (moving, hospital, etc.).
-When going
on mission trips bring along dog/cat flea and tick supplies and snacks
for hungry animals
-Purchase
products that are animal friendly. Avoid products especially made by
Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and Colgate-Palmolive. Contact
www.PETA.org
for companies and products that do unnecessary and cruel
experiments on animals. They also have cruelty-free shopping guides.
-Donate only to
charities that do not experiment on animals for their research. Go to
www.pcrm.org
for Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine who provides cruelty
free charities such as Easter Seals for unborn babies.
-There are many
such charities that do no fund cruel and unnecessary animal research
with your money. If you want to donate to March of Dimes, mark your
money not to be used to fund animal research. Ask them what experiments
they are doing (they don't like to expose the horrors of animal
experimentation they've done). Medicine that was proven safe on animals
may cause horrible defects in the unborn such as thalidomide, a drug
once commonly given to pregnant women because it was safe for animals.
MoD has financed horrible and unnecessary experiments on animals. They
need to be accountable to those who give them billions of dollars.
Let us know when you begin a Gods
Creatures Ministry in your church or community

To begin a God's Creatures Ministry you
can use the following form to help you organize. Start out by having
monthly meetings to share information and to get to know one another.
Ideas will come from the interests/gifts of your group. Diversity is
great! Invite children and adults. Have refreshments, pray, and do God's
will!
