These are some of the reasons why we are vegans
By Betsy Schuurman on Examiner.com
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency expanded its recall Sunday on a number of popular cream-cheese products over fears of salmonella contamination.
The nationwide recall affects original cream cheese made by Western Creamery, a division of Liberte Natural foods.
Consumers were being warned not to eat plain cream cheese, nachos with dip, nachos dip and nachos with salsa party tray. All the nacho products may contain some of the affected cream cheese.
The cheeses were sold at Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Real Canadian Superstore, Fortinos, Zehrs and a number of independent grocery stores across the country.
The affected products were sold between Nov. 25 to Dec. 4.
Foods contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but, when eaten, can cause fever, headaches, upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea. Those with weak immune systems, the elderly and young children are the most susceptible to getting sick.
We began this archive as a means of assisting our visitors in answering many of their health and diet questions, and in encouraging them to take a pro-active part in their own health. We believe the articles and information contained herein are true, but are not presenting them as advice. We, personally, have found that a vegan diet has helped our own health, and simply wish to share with others the things we have found. Each of us must make our own decisions, for it's our own body. If you have a health problem, see your own physician.
