From Deer Fields, NY Coalition for Healthy School Food (NYCHSF)
September 2013

I have been working (volunteering) with my dear friend, Amie Hamlin the Executive Director of New York Coalition for Healthy School Food for six years now. We are making great progress on introducing plant-based entrees into schools, and the kids and teachers are loving them.

The evolution of the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food has been amazing. Their plant-based (vegan) recipes have been distributed to 25,000 schools nationwide. They are in partnership with the largest school food service operation in the country, New York City. Their Wellness Wakeup Call program is heard by more than 100,000 students daily, and that number will soon increase dramatically with the release of the complete three year program. Any funds we can help raise will make a difference in how the school systems feed the kids.

When the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food announced the first public non-charter school in the country, the news went viral, all over the world. The world is literally watching what www.healthyschoolfood.org is doing!

Healthy kids are happy kids!
