A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Fog - 6 Feb 2006
By Mary T. Hoffman

Lately, the weather here has been quite unusual for this time of year. The snow has melted and we’ve been having rain showers instead of snow showers.

Instead of a morning “winter wonderland” we’ve been seeing a beautiful fog that hangs over the still frozen lake and gradually dissipates as noon approaches. Since I am fascinated by the mysterious appearance of fog, I am thankful that we live in an area where we can observe this phenomenon of nature.

The mists of this region inspire some of my paintings, and we have tried to capture this natural beauty with our photography, as well.
