Sacrifice of animals to appease God or “gods” has been around for
thousands of years, and just shows how corrupt human beings really are
if they believe that “deities” or “rulers of the universe” that they
worship are as evil as they are!
Obviously this “religious” practice is based on fear and superstition
– the opposite of love. Plain old sadism again rears its ugly head! As
I’ve said before, one gets more proficient at – or addicted to – what
one practices, either good or evil. The fact that there are people who
cling to such demonic practices and actually initiate their children (1)
in what amounts to traumatic child abuse is, in my opinion, further
proof that Satan is indeed the ruler of this fallen world. (2) (3) In
his letter to the Ephesians, Paul the apostle refers to Satan as “the
prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of
disobedience.” He describes those who have not as yet experienced the
change brought about by the Holy Spirit of God as “by nature children of
wrath.” He includes himself and his readers as having been in this
“children of wrath” category before their spiritual renewal. (Ephesians
2:2-3)
“Tradition” is often used as an excuse for this ungodly practice of
animal torture. Well, cannibalism qualifies as a “tradition,” too. Since
these practitioners of traditional evil are on a slippery downhill
slope, why stop at animal sacrifice? Why not make Satan and his demons
really happy by going back to cannibalism?
The animal sacrifices in the Hebrew Bible were “stop gap” measures or
concessions reluctantly allowed by God after the fall of human beings
who were extremely evil. In Genesis 8:21 the Lord says “…for the intent
of man's [or woman’s] heart is evil from his [or her] youth.” God made
it very clear that obedience is what He wanted, not sacrifice. But
humans ritualized the killing of animals to “cover” for their
disobedience, that is, their sins and their lack of love. In their
hypocrisy and perversion of the truth, it became easy to go on sinning
and just offer blood sacrifices – scapegoats – for their ungodly acts.

6. but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to

his neck, and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea.

not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he
speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the
father of lies.”
