A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

No Noodles – 30 March 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

When food shopping, we make it a habit to read ingredient lists. We avoid buying noodles because they contain eggs. I had no idea that it was a federal law that noodles must contain 5.5 percent egg solids by weight to be called noodles! This information appeared in a food cooperative catalogue’s promotion for noodles, along with a lot of hype to increase sales.

The pasta we buy is healthful, whole grain and comes in a variety of shapes.

We have no need for noodles contaminated with cruelty! Once you know the gruesome facts concerning the chicken/egg industry, calling egg-containing noodles a “comfort food” is well – ironic! Or should I say moronic? As in some people “don’t use their noodle”!

To seek comfort in a product containing cruelly derived ingredients from chickens who have no comfort is nothing short of evil.
