"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
As I write this, it is five o’clock P.M. and the outside temperature is 87 degrees F. It’s possible that this sets a new record high for this date in our area.
This morning we drove past our favorite farm market to see if they were open for the season; and since they were, we bought lots of spinach – the first produce usually available there this early in the spring.
Then, after shopping at other food stores, we headed home and had fun cooking up a big batch of spinach/rice, enough to last for three days, refrigerated. We kept some fresh, raw spinach for use in tossed salads.
We enjoy eating the abundance of plant foods so much, that we can’t understand why people would ever want to eat the carcasses and secretions of tortured animals.
Right now, it sounds like distant thunder outside, so maybe we’ll get some rain.
