Besides the knowledge “deep down inside” that causing suffering to
animals directly or indirectly is wrong, more than anything else that
I can think of, these three scriptures have given me the reassurance
and peace that I am on the right track as a vegan:
Genesis 1:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9, and Revelation 21:4. I think of
these as the beginning, the middle, and the end.
I believe that the Holy Spirit of God lets anyone who is willing to
accept the truth understand these things. Because God is just, He makes
it simple: no special rituals, religions, education, etc. required. And
if you look around, you’ll notice that people use these things to twist
the truth and excuse their cruelty. Most insist on living in the
concessions reluctantly given by God in the Hebrew Bible, even if they
claim to be “Christians.”
In Genesis 1:29-30 we are told,
29. Then God said, “Behold I have given you every plant yielding
seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has
fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
30. and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky
and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have
given every green plant for food”; and it was so.

In Isaiah 11:6-9, the prophet says,
6. And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the kid,
And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
7. Also the cow and the bear will graze;
Their young will lie down together;
And the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8. And the nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
9. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

And Revelation 21:4 says,
4. and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there
shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning,
or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
