A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Having Fun and Learning, Too! – 16 September 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

Yesterday Frank and I drove up to Saratoga Springs to see the 1st New York’s Capital Region Vegetarian Expo, and we had so much fun! It was held at the Saratoga Springs City Center from 10 am – 6 pm and admission was free. I’m happy to report that it was a huge success!

Lots of people of all ages came to have fun sampling delicious food and learning about health, nutrition, animal concerns, and green living. In addition to the 78 exhibitors and the nine short films that were shown, we heard the following speakers who are top experts in their fields: Harold Brown, Steve Breyman, PhD, George Eisman, RD, Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr, MD, Howard Lyman, Michael Greger, MD, and Lee Hall, Attorney.

We heard many people say that they hoped this would be an annual event, and some said that it should be longer than one day. If that’s the case, we’ll definitely be back next year!
