"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Here’s something I wrote this morning after an ice storm left everything covered with a thin layer of ice. This is nothing like the heavy ice (beautiful, but a serious problem) experienced in some other states today, according to a news report.

As far as eye can see,
On limbs of every tree
Ice clings and covers,
As cold temp hovers
Around the point of freezing.

Ice covers paths and street –
For drivers, not a treat;
Even walking isn’t fun,
So those who like to run
Should find another way
To exercise today.
