Joyful Curmudgeon - Blog
"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
After a ten inch snowfall here, it looks like a winter wonderland. Evergreen branches, heavily laden with snow, bend downwards; and visible through the woods, the distant horizon off to the southeast glows with a faint golden light. The newly frozen lake is covered with a blanket of white.
Here’s something I wrote about the beauty left behind by this December storm:
Evergreen branches laden with snow;
Through the clouds, winter’s glow;
Distant horizon with golden light;
On frozen lake a blanket of white.
December’s wonderland is here,
The shortest day of the year draws near;
Silence abounds – not even a peep;
It looks like Nature’s deep in sleep.
