Today’s Thoughts – 24 July 2008

A former FBI agent and author, Robert K. Ressler coined the term “serial killer.” This is what he said about the violent offenders that he profiled: "These are the kids who never learned it's wrong to poke out a puppy's eyes."

“Show me the enforced laws of a state for the prevention of cruelty to animals and I in turn will give you a correct estimate of the refinement, enlightenment, integrity and equity of that commonwealth's people.”
– L.T.Danshiell, Animal Rights Advocate

“The man who kills the animals today is the man who kills the people who get in his way tomorrow.”
– Dr. Dian Fossey (January 16, 1932 – December 26, 1985) was an American zoologist who observed eight gorilla groups in the mountain forests of Rwanda. She was murdered by animal killers.

"Joyful Curmudgeon"
An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
