I had chosen this Blog title before reading “What We’re Thankful
For” by Joanna Lucas of Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary. If you haven’t
already read this wonderful, heartwarming, true story, please visit

Today – Thanksgiving Day – most people will participate in
unspeakable cruelty simply by taking part in a “turkey dinner.” Of
course, the majority would deny any wrongdoing and claim that they don’t
know (and don’t want to know!), et cetera. But “they are without excuse”
according to Romans 1:20.
As for us, we’re thankful that years ago we opened our hearts to
God’s prompting and allowed Him to teach us about His creation. Yes,
“allowed”! Humans are given free choice. Unfortunately, the majority
choose to avoid the truth and, instead, fall for Satan’s lies (John
8:44) and the self-serving pronouncements of their false prophets in
sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15). As the prophet Jeremiah said: (Jeremiah
5:30-31)
30 "An appalling and horrible thing
Has happened in the land:
31 The prophets prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule on their own authority;
And My [God’s] people love it so!
But what will you do at the end of it?
There is no excuse (Romans 1:20) for even Job acknowledged that the
truth is all around us: (Job 12:7-10)
7 "Ask the animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds of the
sky, and they will tell you.
8 Speak to the earth, and it will instruct you. Let the fish of the
sea speak to you.
9 They all know that the Lord has done this.
10 For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the
breath of all humanity.
