Fuel 24 January 2009

Today I was watching an interesting TV program about the industrial use of wood from trees for the manufacture of plywood for buildings, as well as paper.

The last segment of the program was about the possibility of growing genetically engineered trees to provide the raw material for the manufacture of fuel instead of using corn for ethanol. This makes a lot of sense to me, since the corn kernels that are used for ethanol production are better used for food (fuelJ) for humans (not as food for animals to be slaughtered).

"Joyful Curmudgeon"
An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
