A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Love Pill? – 9 March 2009
By Mary T. Hoffman

An article titled “Love: A Matter of Chemistry?” by Katherine Greider in the March 2009 issue of the “AARP Bulletin” just goes to prove how ridiculous research utilizing animals has become. In a search for a drug for love – “a love pill” – “studies on altering brain chemistry have used prairie voles, one of the very few animals to form long-term monogamous pairs.”

Do you see the irony here? Where is the “love” of researchers like Larry J. Young, professor of neuroscience at Atlanta’s Emory University, who interfere with the lives of other animals? Just when I think the arrogance of humans has led them to the lowest dregs in corruption, they do something to mire themselves even further.
