Mother’s Day – 10 May 2009

It’s a shame that so few people make the connection between Mother’s Day and kindness toward all mothers and their offspring. Instead, humans become complicit in the torture of nonhuman animals whose body parts and secretions are used as dinners to honor their own mothers. They don’t even want to face the fact that they are contributing to the promotion of illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. in these women that they claim to love.

An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
