I have some bad news to announce. Due to strategic, tactical and schedule differences, HOPE-GEO's 2008 funder and I have agreed to part ways and pursue our common goal along different lines, otherwise I would have to abandon the CARE-7 tour. I have done one CARE-tour every year since 2003, and is not about to kill CARE-7 in 2009 for monetary reasons. Unfortunately, this leaves Heal Our Planet Earth with a $zero bank account and CARE-7 high and dry. And this is occurring at a time when the preparation for the tour has picked up steam and is receiving enthusiastic support from the animal advocacy, environmental and motorcycle communities across the continent. This motorcycle tour seems to have ignited people's imagination like no previous tours by car have done, and it will go ahead. HOPE-GEO will need $30,000 with which to unleash its 2009 plan to its fullest extent, and that is without one single cent of salary coming to me personally, which has been my policy since founding Heal Our Planet Earth in 1999 (vs certain groups with >$100 million expenditures, 50% overhead, $300,000 salaries and >$5 million fund-raising budgets). If you could extend any help on raising this amount within weeks so the organizing of the tour could proceed without too much loss of time, now is the time to give it. As you may have noticed, my emails and e-newsletters over the years have concerned themselves only with the issues, never with fund-raising . This one is an exception.
